What happened in Egypt prefigures what will happen later.
The Hebrews came out of Egypt
with a mixed multitude of those
who believed the signs and put the
Passover lamb's blood on their doors.
Christ is our Passover. When the wrath
of the Lamb comes, we who believe will
be lifted out of the way, and the antichrist
and his followers will be destroyed.
Then Christ will continue descent to rule
on earth we will be with Him.
There is a lot of confusion between
wrath and tribulation (not the same
thing) or where we go in the rapture
or catching away. 2 Thessalonians
chapter 2 read in full ignoring whatever
you were taught earlier, shows that
Christ comes to end the tribulation.
The most important thing to understand,
however, is that what happened in Egypt
in Exodus, prefigures what is provided
by the Blood of Christ in the future, He
is the Lamb of God Who takes away the
sin of the world. The Lamb slain from
the foundation of the world.
Jesus is the King Who unites the priesthood
and kingship and will never die, He has
conquered death hell and the grave. Those Jews
who didn't follow Him couldn't wrap their minds
around the problem of a Messiah Who never dies
and a suffering servant who dies. The two are one,
there is a Resurrection that unites the two figures.
It is argued He didn't bring peace - THAT IS FOR
WHEN HE COMES BACK. First, He is collecting
citizens of his kingdom who He rules over from Heaven,
church is an outpost of the Kingdom of Heaven
and foretaste of it, but it will become a universal
physical reality someday, brought by Jesus Chtrist
not by us.
There is a direct relationship
between Exodus and the end of this age.
